Air conditioning question on recharge?
Not to sound too dumb, but my daughter's boyfriend charged her 2002 Civic's air conditioner yesterday with R134a because it had no cooling. He put in about two and a half 12 oz. cans - - is that too much? Compressor now just clicks on and off - - air is cold but with compressor cycling on and off she can't run it. Can we just let some refrigerant out? I guess I should get a pressure gauge and check it myself?
thanks!
thanks!

Re: (igo4bmx)
How can I check for the air? She hadn't run air conditioner since last summer of course - - don't know if leaks in system or not yet - - haven't had him put dye in it. Would air in the system cycle the compressor?

Re: (barkwaffle)
over pressure in the lines would cause the compressor to click on and off, but this is for my car 97 ex ej8. Im not sure if same applies to later model civics but its probably same to assume so. Get a pressure gauge and remove what you don't need from the system.
