Default (After Much Searching) Settle the EK compatible Proportioning Valve Question...

Upon a search at hondaautomotive parts, you get the following results:

22522 004 VALVE, PROPORTIONING 1997 Civic DX 3dr
22522 004 VALVE, PROPORTIONING 1999 Civic SI 2dr
220473 004 VALVE, PROPORTIONING 2000 Civic SI 2dr

If thats true, then 1997 DX hatch prop valves are the same part as 1999 Civic Si 2dr, but they magically started a new part for the 2000 SI's?

If thats true, 50% of people who buy a 99-00 SI prop valve for their rear disk brake conversion for their EK Hatch are buying the same thing they have already?

This all started while searching for a 40-40 prop valve for my 96 EK Hatch with gsr brakes all the way around. I was just trying to figure out how to determine a 99-00 SI prop valve from a stock 96-00 cx/dx/ex prop valve, but I guess its not that easy, cause now you have to figure out if its a 99 or 00 si prop valve?

I just want 40-40 for an EK so my rears stop locking up before my fronts and induce 180s...

If you know something, FOR REAL, please comment/help. No, friend of a friend said please, I'm confused enough.

If your going to say "40-40 should be stamped on it..." thats not correct, because thats for non-EK prop valves only and looks like this:
http://img214.exs.cx/img214/3782/propvalve3iy.jpg

EK's look like this:

Info I have collected myself:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by kommon_sense &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">96-00 prop valves look the same. no markings to tell them apart.</TD></TR></TABLE>
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by stackz &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

and it's also going to be identical to all other 96-00 civic prop valves. You need to find out from the guy you bought it from the exact car it came off of.

unless it's from an Si then it's going to have the internal valving set up for drums.

the numbers on the outside are meaningless, just manufacturer lot codes from the date it was made.</TD></TR></TABLE>

So that eliminates my question about identifying 99-00 si's from other 96-00 civic's. YOU CAN'T. Nice. But the question still remains about the 99 si's having the same part numbers.

Support these guys fs post since I used their pics

Exactly. Every post I find, somebody says that, and then silence, the post is never replied to again...

Are people trying to protect the price value of 99 SI prop valves over 96-00 civic dx prop valves .....

There are two things I noticed between my old 40/30 prop valve and my new 40/40 are!

40/30 have the markings L23CE near the bottom mounting hole
44Ø on one side and 6L5 on the other.

40/40 has the markings F27CE near the bottom mounting hole
09Ø on one side and i can't make out the other side because of where it is in my car, do not have a small enough mirror to poke in there.

Thats all i know how to distinguish between the two, hope that helps.

For reference value, the 40/30 came from a '97 civic dx coupe, and the 40/40 came from a '99 civic si
