After Clutch Installation Queries. (Search not helpful)
Hey, I just finished installing a new clutch, flywheel, etc. I put everything back together now and I have 2 problems. (D16y7 - trying to sell car.)
1) Clutch depresses all the way down before engaging. Very soft. I was told to bleed it, is this correct?
2) I tried searching, but it's hard for this one: I idle around 600-700 and it's perfectly fine. I can sit there and rev and it'll go back to around that RPM. Now when driving and letting go of the throttle (gas), it doesn't drop down to idle rpm, it goes to 0 and sometimes stalls. I have no idea how to fix this, or what is the problem.
I do know that this used to happen often about 2 years ago and first we thought it was the alternator. Bought a new one and same thing. We also thought it was the battery, nope. For some reason, that problem just went away and never came back after 2 years. Now it's back and I don't knwo what to do. I just want to fix this car so I can sell it.
Thanks,
Eddie.

When the car stalls out, is the car still in gear with the clutch depressed? If so, it sounds like you may not have gotten everything lined up 100% correctly.
As for the first problem, yes, try bleeding it. It may actually solve both problems.

I can't bleed it today due to lack of helper and no time. Will try tomorrow.
I see my car stall out when I am shifting between gears, or cruising in neutral (say to a stop). In gear, it is perfectly fine.
Wish me luck tomorrow.
Eddie.
