AEM Wide band UEGO install questions
I just installed an AEM wide band UEGO A/F gauge in my OBD1 converted 00 EM1 and I don't believe is it working correctly. The install was very straight forward, removed the old after cat 02 sensor since I don't need it with the OBD1, and installed the o2 sensor that came with the gauge. Wired it up to power and ground, plugged everything in and started it up.
The digital readout goes up to about 15.0 almost immediately then slowly climbs to 7.5 the the gauge reads ---. If I rev the car the reading will drop, but eventually go right back to the top and then ---.
I'm guessing it might be some sort of incorrect setting I tried it on each of the 5 program adjustments and it seems to act the same way.
Shouldn't it stay somewhere towards the middle at idle?
Oh well... hopefully somone here can help out. Thanks

well a wideband on a regular engine will sweep with the constant rich lean commands of the pre cat sensor, however your problem lies in placement, the sensor should not be after the cat, it has a major impact on oxygen content in the exhaust stream, and the --- is when it is out of the range. it needs to be placed before the cat, so it is reading the actual engine's exhaust.
