Re: (blaster834)
huh, make up for the short shifter. But, I'm not really feeling it. I'd want it as low as possible for the shortest shifts.

Re: (Nsane1)
how low it is doesnt mean anything.. the amounts of bends that the shifter its self has( the shaft) is wha matters. and the size of the ball at the bottom.. not sure what its called tho.. lower shifter dont do anything.. read up on leverage

Its where the ball on the shifter is located..that changes the angle in the throw, basically changing the leverage of the shifter. If the ball were at the bottom, you would have to pull really far, but if the ball if higher on the shaft, the shifter wont need to move as much.

There's a point of diminishing return. You can have the shifter so short that it takes fractionally too long to get to the shifter, and the shift is further delayed by the effort required to move an extremely short throw shifter.
For whatever it's worth, after owning an EP3 for a while, I invested in a special shifter for my DC2 ITR track car, which shifter brought the **** up close to the steering wheel like the EP3's.
People look at it strangely, but it really is a big help.
