Car: 99 Civic Si

Issue: While driving with the ac on it cycles on and off every 5-10 seconds. You can tell big time as when it cuts on it feels like you tapped the brake, when off tapped the accelerator more. This gets quite annoying obviously when in quick succession. The air also doesn't get very cool at all, but don't know if that's because it turns off and on so frequently.

I plan on getting a gauge to check the pressure tomorrow. Hopefully it's just low on refrigerant. If not what else could this be?

Could be your clutch fan realy, or fan clutch.

Turns out someone had over filled the freon. Had some drained off and works perfect.

same freekin **** happend to my ac on my si..i over filled it...took some out now its cool..

How did you drain it i overfilled mine now mine does it.

Go figure Autozone would sell me a bottle with a broken gauge.

I just used the filler and a towel to cover it to drain some. It's a hydro fluorocarbon so it's safe to vent to atmosphere (plus you aren't venting much)

So now it blows cooler?

Yep. I was getting temps around 70F at the vent with it being 90F or so outside. This was after about 5+ min as the ac was cutting on and off every 10 sec. After draining it took about 1-2min to cool down to 60F at the vent.
