ac control not working
i looked all over the search forums on what my problem could be and could not find anything close to what problem i have encountered.
it just happened yesterday it does not light up or any of the functions do not work. its a 92" dx hatch.
i mean it still lights up kinda like half of the controls light up but the other half where you choose to where you want it to blow does not light up and does not operate anything. also the defogger switch does not turn on also. but all other lights work. just the other day ac was good.
i checked fuses and they are still good.i checked the 13 under the dash and 43 under the hood.
could the climate control just crapped out all of sudden?
thanks guys!

Re: ac control not working
I will tell you what I know, but you're going to have to do some testing and checking. I'm dealing with a similar issue, but with the heat.
If your fuses are good, check the relays. If it's just the three buttons, it could be either the wire/plug or the switches themselves. If it "just" went out, you'll have to check continuity in the wire/plug. This is where it gets somewhat misleading. The plug directly behind the fan switch is actually the one that powers the rec,a/c,def buttons. That's the one you want to check. Then move on to the other two plugs which supply the power for the whole unit. There's a FSM online to download free. It could be either the wire plug or the button switch itself. Carefully check e-bay, I've seen plenty of switches, and plug harnesses for decent prices. It's not a bank breaker.

Also for future reference, people can help you better when you supply the year make and model of the car and any mods you may have.

Re: ac control not working
i overlooked everything and to come find out it was fuse 12 under dash. i doubled check what fuse it was, previous owner had in a higher amp i believe a 15. i replaced it to the 7.5 it was supposed to be and voila it started to blow air.
but now my rear defogger switch dont work. it does not illuminate when being switched on... crap. prolly need a new switch.
hopefully this helps somebody if they were having the same trouble!
