Default Climate Control AC Button Problem

Ok, so everything works perfect on my usdm climate control after i resoldered all the points but the AC button still won't light up. If it was just that it doesnt light up i wouldn't care, but the AC won't activate at all. Does anyone know which wire(s) on the harness control this part of the climate control? Anyone have any idea why my AC button doens't work? BTW, i know for a fact the climate control unit is not bad, i tested it on my friends car and the AC button worked on his car. Thanks ahead of time.

just resolder all the button cpu points and you'll be set. Just don't do it all at once and give it time to cool down. if you redo all the connections it'll save you furure headaches. Check the bulbs too, it might be burnt out.

I already resoldered all the points thats why every thing else now works perfectly. And if it was just the bulb, that wouldn't affect my AC activating. Thanks anyway though.

I ended up replacing my entire climate control because of this. Did what you did and got to the point where if i pressed the A/C button really hard it would light up.

I wish it was as simple a fix as just replacing the climate control cause i have an extra one anyway. I tried both of them in my friends car and they both worked but neither work on my car which makes me think it's something wrong with the wiring. If i can figure out which wire(s) are for the AC switch I can follow them through the harness and maybe see if there is a problem.

I dont even know what that is. I'm just looking for the wire color for the harness that plugs into the climate control.

Snow,

Slightly off topic question. I am looking for a USDM AC button for my prelude. I am about to do the conversion but my AC is not working right now and I want to idenntify any problem before I start the conversion.

Would you sell the Stock USDM 4th gen button?

Yeah, i was thinking it was my harness too but i don't want to replace the entire harness if i dont have to. That's why i'm trying to figure out what wire(s) control the AC switch for the climate control so i can follow the wire(s) and hopefully pin point the problem

oh, and your problem probably isn't the harness. You probably just need to resolder all the points on your climate control.

it's the harness cause i was trying to fix it a while back and couldnt. i already reoldered the pins, it's the contacts in the harness that are fcxed

did you guys mess up the actual board?
i tried to resolder my old one and tore the board(tough to describe, just hang with me) and it wouldn't activate the compressor until i replace my board(new unit) and now it works fine.

No. Neither AC button worked on either one of my 2 climate controls before i resoldered them either. In fact, a lot of stuff didn't work on either one of them until i resoldered the points and then everything worked perfectly on both of them except the AC buttons still. And as i stated in an earlier post, i tried each climate control in my friends prelude and both ac bottons worked on that car. So yeah, the climate controls are perfect, something else is wrong. My guess is the harness but since i don't know what wires to look for i dunno what to do.

no, i haven't really been worrying about it recently. I'm probably just gonna end up getting a new radio/climate control wiring harness. But first i still need to look over the harness and make sure its nothing obvious.
