? about tranny and speed
i have an ex with a dx tranny and i knoe the gears are hella longer. so with this tranny would i be able to go faster than i would if i had the ex tranny cuz the gears r longer?

they are saying that you should have gone with the ex tranny, its better than the dx....dx arnt that great or fast

I was being just as vague as you were.
What do you mean by "go faster?" Top speed or acceleration?

omg i knoe wat theyre saying. i had 2 replace my tranny n the ****** shop put a dx 1 in so im stuck with it. is it that hard to answer a simple question, its a yes or a no

Listen.
Taller gears = more top speed
Shorter gears = better acceleration
A D16Z6 tranny is geared to go 163 MPH
A D15B7 tranny is geared to go 171 MPH
Do you have the power to get even close to those #'s? Nope.
Stick with the D16Z6 transmission for the better acceleration (and probably higher top speed).

A D15B7 tranny is geared to go 171 MPH

Although the longer-geared DX tranny allows a higher theoretical top speed, in reality, it would probably have a slightly lower top speed than the shorter EX tranny because the DX trans has less torque multiplication (the Civic EX top speed is limited by drag, not by gearing).
