Stick with the EX tranny.

No if's, and's, or but's.

I was being just as vague as you were.

What do you mean by "go faster?" Top speed or acceleration?

Listen.

Taller gears = more top speed
Shorter gears = better acceleration

A D16Z6 tranny is geared to go 163 MPH
A D15B7 tranny is geared to go 171 MPH

Do you have the power to get even close to those #'s? Nope.

Stick with the D16Z6 transmission for the better acceleration (and probably higher top speed).

Although the longer-geared DX tranny allows a higher theoretical top speed, in reality, it would probably have a slightly lower top speed than the shorter EX tranny because the DX trans has less torque multiplication (the Civic EX top speed is limited by drag, not by gearing).
