Default About to do my first motor drop... few quick questions...

Hey everyone im not a newbie as Ive done tons of work on my cars and my friends, yet I never had to drop a motor yet. I have seen people do it many times, but I was wondering exactly what socket head sizes will be necessary other then 32 for the axles, 19 for hub, etc. So far i got a 10mm,12mm,14mm,15mm,16mm,18mm,19mm,32mm

I just wanted to know the basic hand tools other then the sizes I got that I need.
I already got a breaker bar, etc. As I know I need one.
Thanks

You need 17mm, you're going to want a 6mm tapered punch for the "Bitch Pin" in the shift linkage, have a large assortment of pliars for all the clamps and clips you'll be removing, a large prybar for the axles and balljoints, a BFH for the suspension and miscellaneous frustrating bits, and try to have all the mentioned sockets in deep as well as shallow (for mount bolts and such).

Have a good one

6, 12 and 18/24 inch extensions for your ratchets would be helpful as well. Oh, and have two or three buckets handy for all the fluids.

It's right where the shift linkage connects to the tranny. There will be a small rubber accordian style boot, then a c-clamp around the pin.

I pulled that **** out with the linkage on it. Lame *** bitch pin.

But, I didn't need it afterwards. Hence me leaving it attached.

I'm still in the process of dropping my K20A2 into my EG. The motor and trans are sitting in my garage and the last tools I need for the swap are arriving tomorrow.

Should have the engine sitting in the bay by the weekend.

I think you need a 8mm non-tapered punch for the bitch pin

Similar to this. You hit the back of it with a hammer to force the pin out.
