Default 99lx sedan headlight bulbs

Whats up guys,
Im looking to bring my headlights back to life because night viewing hasnt been the greatest. Im doing a lens restoration this weekend, wetsand, pc, menzerna polishes blah blah use know the deal. Hopefully everything goes well and I can bring back a crystal clear (or close to it) lens.

After Im done with that...I started thinking about exploring into a better bulb. Im not looking for anything wild, no customer conversions lol, hid, none of that. Just looking for some quality bulbs to help brighten things back up without being obnoxious. Maybe oem is the way to go and its just that my car is over 10years old and the original bulbs all losing their kick?

The civic is just my daily driver, not hooked up or anything like that. So Im looking to keep things simple and within reason! Any links, pictures, advice etc etc would be greatly appreciated.

dont get xenon bulbs, philips xtreams are good, silverstars are as well but they tend not to last to long.

xeonon bulbs will have a blue tint to them, your better off with a bright white bulb.

Just checked autozone online, they carry silverstar for 50$ so thats a start. Give off a bright white light so their doable.

Dual beam - 2 beams? Meaning...reg light and high beam?

Yep high and low. Silver stars are decent. If you do a good job polishing the lenses and use silver stars you should have considerably better light. The next step would be HID. But thats $300+ easy unless you have a hookup.

Yea Im definately not gonna go the HID route. Not looking to break bank just to brighten things up ya know (although its very functional).

After looking through more of what they have it seems silverstar has 2 versions of their bulb. SilverStar Ultra - Dual Beam - 2bulbs - 50$ or
Just SilverStar - Dual Beam - 2bulbs - 40$ Cant seem to pinpoint what the difference is for 10$ for the "Ultra" bulbs....

edit: oh haha no big deal, just claims the Ultra is 50% brighter and whiter opposed to the reg SilverStar which is only 35% brighter

Ultras are a little higher output, but a shorter life. I put them on a car, theyre good, but the regular ones are just fine.

Yea I kind of figured that due to the higher output they wouldnt last as long! Thanks for the quick replies bro.

Also thanks to all those others who replied!

Looks like Im gonna buff the lens' out and go with the SilverStar reg bulbs and see how that all works out!

So changing out the bulb....is it as easy as on my m3 as just popping the hood, unscrewing the plastic housing cap behind the headlight fixture, unscrewing the bulb and screwing in the new one then screwing back in the plastic house cap with the bulb attached back into the headlight fixture?

I just did a quick google with looking to deep into it because I wont do the lights for another week or so and I was reading about going in through the fender well, removing pins this and that....

Write up anyone?

^^ dont even have to unscrew a thing. theres a black cover to keep water out and then just take a look at it, its pretty self explenitory how to do it.
push the metal thing in and move it out of the holder type thing and the bulb should just come right out.
over driver side it will be easier if you move the ps resevior.
