99 Si Engine code problem
I have a 99 Si, stock engine still with a drag turbo kit on it. Running with FMU and Inline fuel pump. The car runs fine. The only problem is about after 2 weeks of running the engine light came on and it was code 61 (primary O2 sensor). I have to do a little more research but is it possible that my car is running too rich due to the FMU (12 : 1 disk) and inline fuel pump and threw the code? I also have the fuel pump power wire and A/F gauge power wire spliced into the same wire under my hood, there is a bundle of wires on the driver's side that go to a connector. I spliced them into the black wire with yellow stripe on the front side of the connector (rear being closer to the inside of the car). I was wondering maybe this is the O2 wire (just a coincidence) and I spliced two power wires into it and maybe it is lowering the voltage to the O2 sensor and could be throwing a code. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
I have a 2000 si with the same kit and I am also getting the same code I was told that the engine is running too rich by my mechanic and thats the reason the o2 is not reading right I also cleared the light twice by my mechanic with a scan tool and I did it myself twice and couldnt get it to clear and now I am in the process of installing my aem wich I was supposed to have jdogg tune but I ran into some issues so I had to postpone so I wont be using the check engine light anymore I dont think it will be a problem running it that way as long as you keep your eyes on everything and make sure everything is ok !!!
Yeah, I just heard different things one of them being that my car is running in limp mode when the check engine light is on. If I am right, limp mode means poorer performance and i am trying to get the most out of this kit right now without having to get something like hondata (expensive), but when I get the money I am sure its worth it.
