hey can someone please help me! im geting a code 43 for the first time since i built the motor! it has about 6500 miles on it. i feel no loss of power ETC and drives and runs smooth and idel perfect still! i was wondering what could cause this? anyone??? also only new thing i did was put a air fuel gauge in it! and it just reads lean all red and half the yellow is light up! doesnt bounce around or anything.. is that odd? im converted down to obd1 with a ls vtec chip.. i did tamper with the o2 sensor with the white wire then went to green and back to white! and read beter on the white wire! could i have messed up the o2? and have this problem now? please someone help me thanks in advanced!
i'm not sure i understand what is happening with the A/F gauge. it's just reading lean? if so, you probably do have a problem with O2, and that is where the code is being set from.
your engine will still run fine off set parameters based on rpm and load.
either way, since you've tampered with the O2, i'd suspect it is the cause of the code
