99 Honda civic running problems
Any one Please help, I have a 99 civic si, I recently changed my air filter and cleaned it with k/n I let the filter dry for a couple of days before putting it back on. When I did reinstall the filter my idel went crazy. it would climb to 1500. when this happend I hooked my pc up to my car because a code of idle air control vavle was showing, I cleared the code and had the same thing happing. these are the steps I did to solve this 1. I cleaned the iac 2 cleaned my map sensor and throttle body intake everything. the problem is still their I replaced my iac with a lifetime new one for 135. the problem has gone away, the light is still on I have to clear it but today while driving it when u push the clutch down the idel will bounch down to one thousand then stay at tweleve for a second or two then drop to 800 and stay. My car has never done this, I thought now maybe the cable is too tight soI checked it there is slack, I have no vacum leaks did smoke test in the begging of this mess. when I remove my throttle cable from the throttle body the idle after rev drops to 800 and stays what could be wrong and what could I have done.

Try to reset your ecu. Disconnect battery for a minute or so. Then do idle relearn.
Just let the car warm up fully and then sit and idle for 10 mins. Don't touch anything.
This crap happens to me whenever I mess with the intake air. When my iacv is clogged the computer learns one way of controlling the idle, then when I clean it the ecu gets all confused.

Just checking but you said when you took the throttle cable off the idle corrected itself right, but the code is still there? Did you mess with the set bolts for the cable and maybe moved them a hair? Just trying to think of something. Cleaning those parts always makes stuff run werid on some cars.

Id try the ecu relearn first though
