Ok guys...i have a serious issue with a b16a2 engine.... the car came into my shop not running. the head gasket was blown out of it. after sitting at the shop for 3 months the guy finally decides to sell it to me cause being an apprentice, hell it shouldnt be a hard fix....well, wasnt I wrong. I had the head fixed to true straight. new seals guides etc etc etc. put it all in with new timing belt water pump plugs wires cap rotor. she has spark, she has fuel, she has compression.....but yet no start!! timing has been triple checked and still notta. any thoughts??

If the three things you mentioned, fuel/spark/compression, are present, the motor will fire. It impossible for it not to.

It would sputter or backfire at the very least.

I am gonna double check on the fuel pressure, any ideas off top of your head what it should be approx?
I confirmed with noid lights that the injection system is operational....timing is set to cyl.1 tdc, used a spark tester for the plugs.....only thing that i didnt fully test but can smell is fuel....maybe its lagging in volume???

Did you test compression with a gauge. Driving overheated tends to toast the rings, then compression very low and won't start.
DOHC engine you have to have both cams in time of course. Also it's possible to engage distributor 180 degrees out, or firing order wrong.
Fuel pressure should be about 40 if you have a gauge, if you don't, disconnect the return line and check for flow out of the regulator. This shows the pressure is enough to open the regulator, which is proper since regulators seldom go bad.

okay so fuel pressure is within spec 42 psi and the spark is now on the table as the calpret. what i did is i checked for spark at the coil using a tester. its orange not blue....nothing out of the wires. ohmed the wires 3-5ohms resistive. I am suspecting the icm and the coil to be at fault for this. But has this ever happened to anyone else before where a coil is really that weak?

after much time doing testing and chasing thru the electrical system i have found out that even though the coil the is creating spark that the amount of ohms was way high 2.0 ohms to be exact thus leading to the replacement of the coil and then everything was good to go!! Thanks all for your help
