99 auto with boost ecu swapping / tunning
k, got a 99 civic sedan auto, y7 block/ eagle h-beams, milled deck, srp pistons, ferra valvetrain and a zex stage 2,... garret t3, tial wastegate, hks bov, spearco fmic, msd igntion system, aem fuel system, walbro fuel pump, etc....
but.. auto tranny(y8 + tourqe convertor), and stock 99 dx ecu. which ecu should i get, hondata s100 with boost, ? can it still be tuned with a auto, and will it even work with an auto.. also.. don't tell me get a 5sod cuase i can't, don't ask.
or.. should i just get a obd1 p28/P74,P75,P06 etc etc... any good educated info will be welcomed
btw i have a y8 head / intake manfiold so i can run the vtec ecu

Re: 99 auto with boost ecu swapping / tunning (menkio)
You will need to get an obd2 --> obd1 harness, and convert to obd1. But you can not use s100 or s200 with an automatic tranny. I'm not sure, but I think you can use stage 2/3/4 with auto trans, but I would check with hondata. I was browsing through their site, but could not find solid info. Sorry.

I know you said that you cant get a 5-speed, and not too ask.
But all that money you have spent on the current setup you have now, and still using the automatic transmission, is there a certain reason why you are using the auto?
Just wondering

Re: 99 auto with boost ecu swapping / tunning (Quick EX)
Keep your auto, it's actually better under boosted conditions. You just should have some work done to your torque converter. There is a company that was in an issue of Honda Tuning I think, they revane your converter so that your stall speeds are either raised or lowered, but the end result is better fuel economy better acceleration and in some case better than a 5 spd.
Best thing about the auto tho is that you can stand on the brake and gas it a bit to build boost pressure before you even take off. So basically, launching under boost as opposed to building it after. VERY FUN...take some time and research, work on your torque converter.
