99 armrest rear console on a 97 front console

i just traded a guy with a 00 EX his front armrest, with my 97 dx no armrest. it doesnt matter that his doesn't fit properly cause he traded his car into a crappy dealer. is there a way to put his front armrest onto my center console, or do i have to buy the front console (that has the cupholders) for a 99-00 to make it fit????

the only thing that you might need to buy is the bracket for the rear. the armrest is held on with four screws, two in the front & two in the rear. the dx doesn't use the rear holes so, you won't have anything to screw into unless you buy the bracket. no need for the front console though. check here for details.... http://www.handa-accessories.com/civic/civicarmrest.pdf
i did this on my '97 & just had to buy the bracket...

dude all you need is the rear part on the console(the one with the arm rest). i'm using my stock cupholder and that part where the shifter is. I purchased a 99 si center console and you're going to need the bracket for it. its a straight bolt-on.peace
