I bought the 99-00 tail light today installed them and when I turn the turn signal on it works but when I hit the brake it turns off even on the cluster?? when I hit the brake only the 2 red areas on the truck lights light up. and the red and clears on the outside light up too but very dim like the parking lights are on or something...

Are they OE (Honda brand)?
Did you use wire harnesses that came with the lights or did you reuse your old ones?
Do you have photos?

IIRC, the one difference between the wiring for the USDM '96-'98 coupe and USDM '99-'00 coupe taillights is the turn signal bulb is a different type.

First off you did not get LED style lights right?
These just housings like th originals, use the honda wiring and they just screw into the housing, I am wondering if you mixed up bulbs when you took out the originals.
I would start over and unplug all the bulbs and look closely at the bulbs to the see the numbers and match them up one by one, use the stock wiring harness.

This is an old thread. The OP (and most or all others) appeared to be talking about used '99-'00 coupe taillights.
It does happen that wire harnesses wear our or otherwise become damaged over time. This is the most likely scenario. Luckily most people will still have their other set of lights that was previously on the car.
