99-00 Si B16A2 internals into D16 block - possible?
Anyone ever thought of using the b16 crank, pistons, and rods into the d16? They're both 16 valve vtec. I dunno if it's possible in terms of clearances. The b16's perfect rod/stroke ratio would be nice for high rpm.

So you're faced with these two choices:
1.) try and do a shitload of custom work to a D-series engine to increase displacement by nearly zero while retaining the shitty SOHC head with its pathetic flow characteristics or,
2.) just get a ******* B16.
No, your idea is not possible. Also, it's stupid. Think things through before you post them in public places to keep this kind of verbal spanking from occurring twice.

Damn dude, chill. Have YOU ever done such a swap to make a valid reason to have that kind of attitude? Are you an engine builder? AND why is it stupid? Everyone knows by the time you shell out the dough on a b16 swap, you could build up a turbo d16. So what's more stupid, swapping a STOCK 160hp b16 or having a built boosted D16 with 200-500hp??
I'm not trying to get more displacement by swapping the b16 internals, just more interested in the rod/stroke ratio for high (9k+) rpm durability. Plus adding forged aftermarket pistons or suzuki vitara pistons. That's why I ASKED if someone on here has ever attempted or even done it. Don't be an ******* cus I'm sure you've never personally done it to support your conclusion. Go spank your own ***, kid. I think you underestimate the d16...I think you need to go read up on d-series.org or hondatuning's 400hp d-series.
If I were to do a swap, I wouldn't bother with a b16. b18c1/c5, h22a, or K-series floats my boat.

why not just buy aftermarket pistons? they'll hold more power...noob

I think his point is, that a b16 will end up being cheaper and easier to simply swap in.

The prices of these engines are coming down, by the time you do any custom machine work you will be way past what a B16 costs, and you will still have a shitty engine. YOUR IDEA SUCKS, I just waisted 46 seconds of my life posting how stupid that is..

they run supra pistons on b16 rods in dseries all the time. takes some machining. I think there is a user named turbo panda that can get the right pistons (they aren't USDM)
it changes the placement of the wrist pin in the piston, so I don't know if I would do all that just for a 9k rpm. I would rather get a turbo that kit the rpm range of the motor I have.

look at whats under his name... "resident ***-whooper" he didn't put that there for no reason. he might be a little "blunt" at times .
and are you serious for the price of a b16 swap you could make a 500hp d series? this i'd like to see.

No, I haven't ever done such a swap because such a swap (B16 crank and rods and pistons) is not possible. B16's can be had for under $1500 easily. Good luck making a 500hp D-series with that Am I an engine builder? Well, I'm one of many people in Columbus who builds engines for people, so yeah - you could say that I am, indeed, an engine builder.
Why it's stupid will be discussed below.

The main reason I know you're full of nothing but dreams and **** is that you seem interested in revving high - probably because you're a moron who thinks that by revving the **** out of his SOHC VTEC engine he'll make more power out of it. It doesn't work like that, kid. Sorry. You'll run out of cam and valvespring long before you see any benefit from winding your D16Z6 that high.
Why don't YOU go and reread your precious Honda Tuning article on their 400hp d-series and then come back and defend why you think putting a B16 rotating assembly is going to get you any closer to that goal. Moron.

That's great. Next time you want to defend your mistake, make sure it's not against someone who knows what the expletive they're talking about. A little forethought will get you places here.
