I have a 97 civic ex coupe auto tranny with a d16y8 and its been giving me problems and just yesterday...2 days b4 i start school....my engine gives out on me on the freeway. I started the car back up and as soon as i put my foot on the break it shuts off again....idk whats wrong but im thinking about swapping the engine and tranny for a JDM B16A (2ND GEN) COMPLETE CHANGEOVER WITH LSD TRANSMISSION....what i wanna know is..is it worth it...should i do it....and i have the link for the place by my house that i wanna go to for it so can you guys/girls look at the list and tell me if they are ripping me off or not please

Why don't you just find out what's wrong with your car NOW?
Don't buy engines off of Craigslist.

I agree with the top post. Try starting the car and keep giving it gas and see if it stay running it might be low idle that why it shut off

Thread titles MUST summarize the tech problem (be topic specific) so that members browsing titles can understand the problem without reading the post. Title edited.

@RonJ- sorry bro i didn't know all of that...im new to this site and don't know too much about cars lol
but anywho i found out it's an internal engine problem and i would have to rebuild it so im thinking about just buying another engine
is a B20 a good engine and for a B20 swap with tranny and all that other stuff is 2500 a good price or would that be a rip off?
