98 civic ex map sensor testing question!!
so i tapped into the ground of the map sensor, it said that it should read 12 volts (set at dc volts) so i tapped in, connected the red multimeter stick to the battery positive and the black to the ground wire connected to the sensor. and it reads 11.3. i tried several different times, turning the car off, unhooking the meter everytime (and i only had the car on, not the engine like they said) they being troubleshootmycar.com. i have no idea if there is any leaniance allowed??? the whole reason why im doing this is because my car just recently started to accelerate a little slow once i get to about 40 mph, and sometimes from a stop and go postion. so i cleaned the intake and throttle body i also just recently changed the coolant, oil and trans fluid. anyways i checked the tps sensor and everything checked out. i also just rememebered that when checking the tps voltage signal, it read at .5 volts as it should, and full throttle read 4.9 as it should. but when i slowly opended the throttle, it crept up nice the whole time EXCEPT from 1.9 - 2.0 it didnt necessarily skip...but it went... "1.9, 0.0, 2.0" really fast than kept going up to 4.9 as normal. any ideas? i am new to all of this car stuff.
