Ive had this problem where my car would make a chattering noise when the clutch was engaged. I just figured it was the throwout bearing, so after buying a new clutch and taking the tranny off, i found that the throwout bearing was fine. so now i dug a little deeper, i took the tranny apart and found that there was bearings scattered in the case and my inner shaft bearing was shot...!

Just figured id post this in case anyone else has this problem because it bugged the hell outta me... if you have this problem and wanna take on the challenge, theres a good do it yourself on d-series.org
