98 Civic acting odd. SRS light, no power, Running hot...
So the other day my GF's 98 Civic EX starting acting odd. She didnt even get down the street when she claims the cars temp gauge shot to red. She came back parked it and i looked at it when i got home and found it to be ok. The SRS light comes on here and there. It goes off when at a stand still but when you start driving it comes back on. Also, checked the Radiator and i can see that it may be clogged. So i have to pull it and check it. Aside from that the radio seems to be acting up too. Not sure if all these are related but it sure does seem odd that all this started happening after the SRS light came on. I also looked up how to reset it and it keeps coming back. The car is not throwing any codes otherwise so im stumped.
Jump the service connector to pull the SRS codes. Like the CEL, the SRS light will blink the code - see FAQs sticky.
What do you mean "the radio acting up"?
You also may want to replace the thermostat and then bleed the cooling system.
