98 civic ABS problem

98 civic ABS problem
only during hard breaking (i guess the ABS kicked in) my brake pedel virbrate alot with pretty loud grinding sound comming form the fire wall/pedel area.is that normal or is there something wrong with my ABS? 
but dont take my word for it

96-00 civic
no abs
including Si models didnt come with abs.
i know USDM 94-95 civic EX came with ABS.
wierd.
you expect 99-00 civic si to come with abs but not..
