Hi, just bought my civic 3 days ago used, took it to my mechanic everything checked out fine for him, today on my way to work when i was stopping at a light my car stalled, and every stop thereafter it stalled, i then noticed a tapping ratteling noise from the drivers side of the engine, where the white cover piece is on the side, im thinking valve or timing belt/chain issue, I already cleaned the IACV but not sure if it fixed the stalling because im still at work, any suggestions on the stalling and or tapping noise would be great.

Timing chain? Take it back to your mechanic. The IACV would not cause the car to stall.
