'97 EX Coupe Keyless entry-Aftermarket radio
Picked up a totally stock '97 Coupe. Has the factory radio system AND keyless entry. It all works fine. Was thinking of changing the head unit to a higher end (Pioneer etc.)
Is there any way I can keep the keyless entry. I know this works through the stock radio?

Re: '97 EX Coupe Keyless entry-Aftermarket radio
you just need to get the metra harness 70-1720T
Description
Civic 1996-98 - Into Car Allowing Keyless Entry (Click on part for more details)
Product Specifications
* -T-harness plugs into vehicle and into original radio
* -Used to retain keyless entry in select vehicles
* -Power and 4-Speaker
Allows installation of an aftermarket radio using the existing factory wiring and connectors. No cutting of factory wiring is needed. This particular harness will allow retention of the factory radio in order to maintain the factory keyless entry system.

Re: '97 EX Coupe Keyless entry-Aftermarket radio
I am facing the same issue for my '98 (same gen.). I found a website (www.installdr.com/InstallDocs/Honda/Civic.html) that will give pretty detailed remove/install instructions for 1993-1995, 1996-1998 and 1999-2000 Civics in a pdf format...also tells you the best place to hide the old radio.
**They also say that you need an offset bracket to accomodate for a one inch (1") difference in the dash/radio mounting depth...Does anyone know if this is correct?
