'97 civic HX stall problem.
Can anyone tell me if they have had the same problem I have with my 1997 Civic HX. Recently I was driving on the freeway back home, when just out of nowhere my Civic just shut down like somebody shut it off at the key. I pulled over and try to restart it. After three or four times it started and I went another probably 10 miles and it did it again. Once again three or four cranks it started and off I go to finish my trip (40-50 miles). This is the first time this vehicle has done this to me. It has 147,000 miles on it with the original O2 sensors. Can anybody offer any suggestions to this problem?

Re: '97 civic HX stall problem.
main relay perhaps? I know it was more prone to failure in 92-95 and also some 96-2000 civics. I know there was a recall that had something to do with the ignition switch and I also have a 97 hx and the recall didn't include it.

Thanks Kista20. I've driven this vehicle since new and this is the first time something like this has happened. I hate when these types of problems come along....you never find them until they act up, which usually is when your 200 miles from home!
