97 civic hx having problems not sure what to do?!? Please help
Okay so this is the problem, the other day I was on the highway and it started to over heat. When I opened the hood the motor was covered with anti freeze. Wasn't really sure what the problem was. I changed out the thermostat. Checked the old one(put it in boiling water) it opened up somewhat but no fully. So I put the new one in. Drive it around town for a few. No overheating problem. As soon as I bring the speed up to about 55 it starts to over heat. Not sure what the problem is. Then here is the next thing that is mind baffling to me. Got it home. Let it cool. Went to start it nothing. Wasn't getting spark? Later that night cranked it over and it started right up. Next morning same thing. And I turned it off it would not start after driving it for about 10-15 minutes. Any advice? Already checked the fuses and replaced the main fuse relay on the passengers side by the glove box( it was making a clicking noise when I turned the my over with out cranking the motor)

Think critically here. If coolant is on the OUTSIDE of the engine wouldn't it follow that the only way that would happen is if there were a leak somewhere?
Did you check the hoses or radiator for leaks?
I'm guessing your letting t overheat did some damage.

Overheating - did you bleed the cooling system after replacing the thermostat?
Intermittent no start - is this a no-crank problem or a cranks-but-won't-start problem?

Also I did bleed the coolant system after changing the thermostat. So there wouldn't be any air pockets in the block

And it cranks but no start. After it has been shut off and ran. Maybe it got the distributor wet? That was my thinking but I'm not sure.

Opened the radiator cap filled radiator. Let it run with out the cap on to let the air bubbles release and then i filled it back up.

So no codes are coming up. I'm stumped lol. Guess I will just have to start it up and have one of my friends watch for leaks while I give it a steady rev. Maybe I can find the leak that way. It's just so weird.

Next time the engine won't start:
1. Listen for whether the fuel pump primes.
2. Check for bright white spark at all 4 spark plugs.
