Default 97 civic hatch antenna.

Anyone ever remove one of these?

I have a helms manual and its supposed to be just as easy as removing the top screws outside and pulling out the unit as a whole. A while ago one of my freinds pulled the antenna too much removing the hole metal rod thing! So i get to taking off the plastic piece outside the car. and there's nothing following it. I ordered a genuine honda antenna assembly. It looks like it's supposed to be removed as one whole unit. The rest of the old antenna is still at the bottom interior part. doesn't feel like I can yank it out, feels stuck. help.

your talking about the ant. wire right? you can get one of those bolt grabers and shove it down there and grab the wire or have fun pulling your interior apart....

Make sure you tie some string to the end of the old antenna inside the car, that way you can pull the string to feed the new antenna in.

yeah i get what you guys are saying. thanks.

but if you've ever looked at a civic antenna it's one hole piece that's supposed to come up thought the top when removed. since my idiot buddy ripped off the top half (the metal rod with mast) theres still the wire part of it at the bottom in the driver interior. I need to remove this first before putting the new in but it feels stuck and i can pull it out.

Yeah, I replaced my antenna. It had the mast and the amount of wire from the bottom of the antenna. Make sure the antenna wire is not getting caught on anything under your dash.

I GOT IT OUT! I just un wound a metal clothe hanger and use the twisted end to jam it in the plastic tube enough to create friction to pull the bitch out. Thanks guys!
