96 Civix LX Steering Wheel
I, like many people, have a steering wheel that is falling apart and the rubber is just nasty etc... I've been looking at various sources online to get a replacement wheel and saw someone on EBay posted a leather Acura wheel that may work with certain Civics?? Does anyone know which Acura one is compatible w/o a lot of work or if that's even correct? I have cruise control on my wheel and it does have SRS. It would be real nice to have leather so I don't have to replace the damn thing again anytime soon. Thanks in advance!

Re: 96 Civix LX Steering Wheel
I wouldn't be fearful of other Civic wheels. I've had mine six years (the car is over ten years old now) and I've never had any sort of issue.
In fact, I can't remember having seen this problem in a '96-'00 Civic yet.
So I don't think it's super common.
I know '96-'00 Civics can use S2000 steering wheels and I think '02-'05 Civic Si steering wheels. I'm not sure about all the others though.
It'd be nice for me to know them ALL too though. I have a mystery steering column here I'd like to get rid of, but I need to ID it first. I only know it fits a 6G wheel and looks very similar to a 6G column, but it's a little too short.

Oh, and if you get another Civic wheel, you'll want to check the color.
'96-'00 Civics came in the following interior colors in the US (overseas wheels will fit too though and some come in black there):
- Light Gray (TYPE F) (coupe, hatch, sedan)
- Dark Gray (TYPE K) (coupe, hatch)
- Tan (TYPE P) (sedan)
The color code is in your driver's door jamb.
