96 civic keyless entry not working...please help

Default 96 civic remote for locks not working...please help

okay guys i have a 1996 honda civic ex...i have the remote to unlock my doors and after puting in a aftermarket stereo my remote doesnt work...is there a way to by-pass it so i can use it while having my after market stereo in? i know it works because it worked when my stock stereo was in...its not a huge deal but if i can use it then y not? thanks in advance

The only way to use the OEM keyless entry system in a '96-98 Civic is to retain the factory radio head, where the control unit for the keyless is located. When installing an aftermarket head unit, most people just tuck the stock head unit back behind the dash and leave the plug in for the keyless to work.
