96 civic ex b18a1 obd-0 swap help
Ive found a obd-0 b18a1 forsale localy and im thinkjng of getting it hes selling it pretty cheap but my main problem is is i got a 96 civic ex with a sohc in it what all will i need to buy to do the swap. Btw the motor comes with an auto tranny which will get swapped with a 5 speed and the intake mani and headers if someone could help id be really appreciated

interested to know so i'll post lol.
afaik you'll run into issues with the ALT,dist, and a few of the sensor on the intake mani mainly the IAT,IACV. other then that I THINK you'll be ok however that harness in your car will not work.

So what your saying is is that there will be issues with those and i know i will need
B series alxes
And mounts
But im not really sure on what else and what ecu will i need

What harness will i need the one that was for the motor or one that is a civic that model or what i got a 2000 civic si wiring harness will that work?

I'm not 100% sure on how you're going to do this on paper it doesn't work only cause of all the differences especially with the ECU there's no obd2a to obd0 jumper harness. and then we get into pulling the engine and dash harness. imo it will be a lot easier to just look for a obd1 engine.

Ok thanks man i appreciate it i was just wondering because this guy had a b18a1 with all that for $200 and i thought that was a steal

well keep in mind that engine is from 1990-91 ! that's pretty old it would be more then likely due for a rebuild. a b20 is something to consider more torque then a b18 and can be had for cheap to infact they're usually cheaper then the b18b1's !.

It won't solve all your issues but it's a start.

hmm I did not know that it's 165 tho and he still will have the issue of the engine harness to dash altho I'm sure rywire has something. Never said impossible just out of my comfort zone to say 100% yes or no.
