I know you are looking for a link, however in the long run it is cheaper and easyer to just replace the complete cv assy. sometimes you will get a bad re-man unit but it is still a lot less work and will be around the same price

it's like 30$ for a boot kit... i think you have to do the inner boot and outter boot too... i read how to do the repacking of the boot... doesnt sound fun... i am in the same boat... i spent the extra cash and got a new axle, just haven't replaced it yet... gl

Get a new axle. It's easier and better. If you CV boot tore it means dirt and sand could have gotten in there are started to cause damage. It would be a shame to replace your boot only to have the CV joint fail on you a month later. Also to replace the boot I do believe you need a specialized crimp tool. Just my 2 Cents
Cheers.

It's pretty easy to change the cv boot(the outer one atleast) you don't need to change the whole axle. Repacking the boot is easy too.
Replacing the boot is a heck of alot less work then replacing the whole axle.
Got to your local auto store and ask for a cv boot that is pre cut on one side.
You should be able to just look at the axle and know how to replace it. Not that hard.

A CV boot costs $15 and takes a few minutes to replace. I've done it several times. You need:
a new boot - $15
band clamps - $2 ($1/each, you will need two)
band clamp tool - $10
CV joint grease - $5 (enough to do several CV joints)
can of brake clean - $2
As far as how to do it, I'd recommend you get a Helms manual if you're planning on working on your car, or here are some general instructions:
Axle CV-Boot Joint -- Parts Removal - http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/....html
Axle CV-Boot Joint -- Axle Disassembly - http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/....html
Axle CV-Boot Joint -- Parts Installation and Reassembly - http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/....html
Then you retain your OEM axles instead of getting some cheap aftermarket reman axles.
