Default 96 Civic Accessory Power Relay

I have a 96 Civic, 2 door, for which the radio works intermittently. From what I have read it looks like the problem is probably the accessory power relay. However, I don't know where that is located. Does anyone know where it is or have a diagram that I can look at of the location? Thanks.

There's no accessory power relay.

Ok. Is there something else that would cause that problem? Another relay or fuse or something?

Start here:

Loose fuse (2 for radio), or loose wire or connector at rear of radio.

You'll need to be more specific.

Factory radio?

Is it turning on and off?

Check the wiring harness to the radio

It will sometimes turn on with the key switch and sometimes not. If not, sometimes it turns on while I am driving. Other times it will turn off while driving. It can work for a while at a time or just a few seconds. I'll try your suggestions. Thanks.

Has the radio actually ever worked fine before?

I just recently purchased the vehicle and it had this problem when I got it. The radio is aftermarket, though, so the problem may have been caused by a bad installation. I will have to wait until this weekend to look into it further, though. I imagine it must be a bad/loose ground, fuse, or wire. I'll let you know what I find.
