I have my own case of ADD, but this **** is thick and deep...
If not, then good luck W95! I'm done tho. You haven't taken any of my advice so why keep tryin?

But if you want to stick around, I'll have photos of this head off soon so that we can see what we're dealing with under that head there.

Filth flarn filth, $#@#%^&*&^%$#@%^&
Everything is in place, and.. I need more leverage.
Seriously considering the investment on a 40" 3/4" drive breaker, with a 17mm 3/4 drive socket. I may need the same extensions, though. Since I checked out Harbor Freight today..
That's the latest: I must not be nearly as strong as I need to be to get this off, and.. I need more leverage. This breaker bar will be looking like an "S" by the time I am done with it (or, Harbor Freight "Speed Bar.")
Resisting every urge to get a local helper. I CAN DO THIS. Its just $%^&*&^%$#@#$%^&*&^%$#$%^
Not expecting any hi-fives just yet.. I still need to accomplish the task. At least I know how to do it now.
Al-righty. Going to work, then back at it as soon as payday comes. Have a great night, everyone.
Trying REAL HARD TO LET MY NEXT POST HAVE PICS OF THIS HEAD OFF. THAT IS MY GOAL. I DIDN'T FORGET.
Again.. Not there yet, so. Have a wonderful evening, my fine HT brethren.

This is exactly why I was asking if you had done this already. Now you know why this is a crucial step. That is arguably the toughest bolt to break free.
I've never even heard of 3/4" drive set.

half inch is fine. 17mm deepwell and you do not need an extension. lay under the car, on your back with your feet facing the rear of the car. wedge the prybar on the flywheel/converter. pull forward on it while pushing back on the breaker bar with your foot/feet. bam.

I was actually thinking this at work tonight that "getting this particular nut loose seems harder than pulling an engine out and putting another back in." We all know the guys that have that down to such a science that the old engine will be out and the new engine in before the sun goes down, assuming all parts are already in place. (Like, every single one that you switch when it's out.)
But, back to this thing. It's kinda making me feel like an unmuscular bitch, this one. Truth. All my cardio.. for nothing.. (I am 6ft and about 220lbs, by the way. Maybe I am concerned about the breaker bar snapping. At the weakest part: The joint.)
Now that I read about how to do it properly, I REALLY need those jack stands now. Guy on ETCG forum DIED when working on his car, not properly supported.. and I can tell you I DONT have the jack stands yet.
Payday, get here. I DO work, so.. Get here. First payday. Dammit. I want to PROGRESS here.

Leverage, leverage, leverage, since this bolt has been like Godzilla just laughing at everything it sees, that big, huge radioactive lizard, there was no penetrating something that big and fat.
Damn. Pipe.
Let's do this.
As long as I get the car properly supported. It's still kinda unsafe and on a jack and bricks, which is no substitute for proper support. And if I'm gonna be going Jack LeLange on this bleepity-bleep-bleep bolt, then.. yeah.
** yesterday, it laughed and did the Godzilla at HEAT and TAPPING ON IT WITH CHISEL TO MAKE "SHOCKWAVES." This bolt is like a 600-pound fat just sitting on me and drinking cream.
I honestly should be able to have this head off the engine about a half hour of actual, normal work after this thing, since I will have a more clear shot at that particular #2 I can't get to for some reason that I am starting to think may have to do with that compacting of the driver side headlight...... and then the head bolts are reverse order (so from #10 to #1, outward in) in at least 3 steps to not warp a head taking it off. And oh, how the pics will roll in then.

Re: 95 EJ1 has a D15Z1 not D16Z6 and it has issues
If you want to spend more money on the 3/4" drive/socket set be my guest but as other members have stated a 1/2" drive is all that is necessary. On top of that, that socket is a 12pt socket stated for "Mercedes cylinder head" bolts/nuts. While I'm sure it will work just like any other socket I'm also positive that it's 12pt for a reason.
Here's a tip, why don't you try some penetrating oil but this time let it do it's job. Again, as many members have already stated, LET IT SOAK and in this particular instance you can let it soak for days before attempting to break that bolt free. Spray it before work, spray it before going to sleep, etc.

** I didn't take a knife and slice it off, either, and just deal with this on reinstallation somehow, which is what I would do if I was gonna **** around and do "what I thought would be a good idea." But hey.. Nobody said to do that, either. **
Im gonna start mixing the Acetone/ATF and spraying it on, though so little seems to get to the threads. That wasn't "expressly" mentioned, either. just penetrating oil for days.

Re: 95 EJ1 has a D15Z1 not D16Z6 and it has issues
If you want to use your home made concoction that's fine, point being is to let it actually soak in so it can do it's job. It's not something that instantaneously just seeps in where you want it especially if you have the area you want it to seep into heated up to the point that any liquid that touches it wants to evaporate. Now, the way it works is "expressly" mentioned, what you want to use as the penetrating oil is up to you.

The latest: I been spraying some ATF/Acetone on it, as much as will "get on the threads," with its vertical orientation.
I will heat it up, and try the torque tomorrow. Waiting until the rain stops to hit it again, before I go to sleep.
Would be something if it comes off with that.

I hope there wasn't anything directly behind the bolt that I screwed up.. nothing is leaking after the heat.

I considered maybe getting a balloon to hold liquid on it, sealing it somehow (strange) but I wonder if ATF/Acetone would eat through that. Or a ziploc bag.
When it stop s raining, i will try some muscle again. So far, ALL my pulling has not gotten it (and I have not gone under the car to be safe.)
We will see.

I Put a Craigslist ad up today seeing if anyone has maybe a spare 15 minutes or so, though anyone that comes would undoubtedly want to help me finish this up.
For some reason, I'm not sure if people look at Craigslist looking for jobs like this. Every once in a blue moon.. seeking that "hungry mechanic."
Really just someone with arm strength, ................................

You are operating with two breaker bars now right? And you have the correct pulley tool or at least some sort of tool combo holding the pulley? And a pipe to act as a breaker bar extender?

BREAKING NEWS! Well, kind of.. It took soooo long, BUT: I got the bolt off.
All that stuff and time must have helped, because.. It finally gave.
I know nobody wants to see the video. Check my channel if you really, really do. (YouTube)
But THE CRANK PULLEY BOLT IS OFF THE CAR! As of THIS POSTING.
Now I remove the pulley, belt, and head.. And I have a real shot at having that off tonight.
I want to thank EVERYONE. Mr eghatch9295, TomCat39, RonJ, tony2018, Mr. NARC, 24TEN, Jarvis, .. It is my hope that, NOW THAT that TASK HAS BEEN COMPLETED, that we continue.
Posting, driving home. Thank you! :D
