Default 95 dx going from no tach to tach cluster

I just picked up a new cluster with a tachometer, just wanted to know if there is any wiring to do or is it just plug and play? all the articles I found are about how to keep your oem mileage for the chasis.

plug and play unless you want to swap out your own speedometer to maintain the original mileage.

the new one I got is only off by a couple hundred miles, so id***. I was changing out the bulbs though and the little sockets that the bulbs go in look a little fried. I was planning on just switching them out with the sockets from my current cluster but do you think my new one should work fine or did I get screwed over on the sale? I can post pics if needed.

After pulling my old cluster I noticed the new one I got has a green plug on the back, and my old one doesn't. Should I worry about this or am I just being silly?
Old one on top, new one on bottom

No, they're both manual clusters, that's the first thing I checked for, hahaha

the green plug is for the cruise control light in the cluster. Don't worry about it.

Those little incandescent bulbs generate enough heat to just cause discoloring of the printed circuit. You can get LED replacements for them in all colors. Nice thing about them is they should literally last forever.
