So how hard would it be to switch tachs?

Also, what are some other things I should watch out for when looking/driving the car?

Well basically the body should be your main concern i guess. D motors are champions and as long as they've been maintained decently theyll run forever.

If the check engine light is on, look on the far right corner under the glove box, there will be a green rubber thing with two connectors going in it. Take a wire and jump the two pin connector (with the car off). Turn the ignition to the on position, and the light will flash (1 long = 10 & 1 short =1, add the long and shorts together).

Other than that, check the fluids, clutch (for slippage), a/c (if applicable), and all the lights. Make sure you get a good test drive in to make sure there are no problems... overheating, etc. If there are any problems, make sure you get the price situated accordingly. Good luck, EGs are great cars.

Edit: forgot to add, you can also use an LX cluster if need be, I run one and it's not horrible, just a lower redline & speedometer.

So as long as there is no CEL, no need to run codes? Also, whats the redline for the 1.5 liter beast in this car?

I THINK its at 6500? Something around there. I would have the guy start up the car while you look at the exhaust, make sure it doesn't poof out too much smoke, then after driving it check for smoke again. Check oil, tranny for grinds, and weird noises in engine bay, feel under quarterpanels for rust, feel carpet for leaks (usually on passenger side under dash).
