95 del sol/b18 swap...wont rev over 4500 rpm
I recently traded my car for a 95 del sol with a b18 motor......the car wont rev over 4500 rpm, and when it gets to that point it acts as if its a rev limiter, which it isnt. Also my CEL comes on and it idles at 1500rpm and when I drive it misfires
, this occasionally happens, if i restart the car it will go away then come back on.. He does have a obdII ECU on a OBD1 motor. any ideas on what it could be??

What B18? Stamped on the block.
What ECU? On the bar code.
Do you know any history of the car?
Need more information.
Did you bother pulling the CEL codes?

Why would he have a OBD2 ECU in there? Is it a JDM ECU? Didn't think to pull any codes or check what ECU it is? Or just not sure how to.
Honda-tech has episodes of issues. This week's episode is people's cars all rev limiting between 3k and 4500RPM. You may want to check on some of those threads for info as well.
