Default 95 d16z6 in a 97 civic EX ?

Hello, I have the oportunity to pick up a 95 d16z6 to put in my 97 civic. Right now the motor in my civic has a thrown rod but all the sensors...etc are good. Im not sure if the head has bent valves quite yet. My question is will I be able to swap the d16z6 into my car and run it with my odb2 harness and computer? Or will I have to use the head from my d16y8?

you will have to buy a conversion harness i dont think they are that expensive you can find them in the marketplace or at most part sites. My quesiton is why are you swapping a z6 for a y8 they make the same numbers, and are essentially the same motor?

The Y8 is blown, And I found a z6 for 300 bucks so thats why I was going to move to the z6. the only y8s I have found are a lot more expensive

yeah go with the D15 you wont have to worry about fixing that rod, not to mention any other problems with the engine.
