Y8 with Z6 head
ive got a 98 ex, pretty stock as far as the "go" part. cheap intake and custom axleback.
my auto teacher recently parted out a 92 ex with a D16z6.. and i could get the z6 head for a very low price.. would it be beneficial for me to swap the heads?

Lower compression, distributors do not interchange/bolt up, and if your current head/IM has air injection it would lead to some annoying idle issues to be smoothed out.
In short, no it's not a good idea to get that Z6 head for your Y8 block.

Re: Y8 with Z6 head
Sorry but i'm new here and seems like asking questions more than answering. Finding this very thread is like finding a needle on a haystack.. Anyway, I have a 95 civic dx with a d16y7 swap, but i snapped the rods that's why i'm swapping it into a d16z6. The d16z6 is from a 95 ex auto. Would this be compatible to my manual dx? Can i use my stock ecu, harness?? What else do i need for this swap?
Any help would be appreciated
tnx. Jun
