95 civic rear trail arm
hello,
I just bought a civic ex 95 (200k mileage)
the alignment on the back is so bad now.
went to shop and they said they can't adjust the toe to the specs range.
and they told me I need to replace the trail arm (will it help if I just replace the bushing? is it that easy to bend that god damn thick arm? ) I was running w/ a flat tire on highway @ 40mph and hit those light reflecting plastic b/w lane, I don't know if that really hurts the trail arm or not.)
on the left arm, the toe was just at margin, and on the right arm (which was hitted when the tire was flatted) is completely off.
the dealer price for a trail arm is 375 for one arm so the total is $750. labor cost will be another 200 or something like that.
I am wondering if there is anyway I can get a cheaper part, the shop said they can't find any oem part for the trail arm.
anyone has experience with bad alignment due to aged trail arm?
the civic i bought use a 205 55 R16 rim, which is bigger than the usual 15", is this a reason to accelerate the trail arm bending problem?
any thought or comment is welcome, I appreciate your response
This is my first car with stick shift I love it : )
This is my first post here also, seems like this is a great forum
