'95 Civic EX need booster
I got a '95 Civic EX 2 door and man the dude that sold it to me saw me coming. I have been slowly finding out that he took all the throw away junk in a Honda shop, made a car out of it, and sold it to me. Everything has gone wrong and been fixed. Car overheated on few mile runs since I bought it. Changed every hose, thermostat, radiator, could never find the slow water leak until it got real bad and the oil started to look like caramel. Dam! New head gasket, sent out the head, block bolt holes all stripped from overheating, junk yard block, tranny could not take the power from the now good engine, junk yard tranny, now the brake pedal went to the floor a few times and my mechanic says master cylinder.\
I buy a used one and the box says if you have any fluid here, here, or here (All around booster hole.), then the booster is shot and must be replaced. The brake fluid was black with a green tint, and doncha know, I got break fluid all around the booster hole. Now my budget is on life support and Advance wants $155 paid at night and will have new booster in the morning. Plus I have to give my mechanic something for doing it, thank God for having a good friend mechanic (I owe him now $1,600 for all the engine and tranny work so far and paid him quite a bit already.)
I need to find a booster for less than $155, is that the going price for what I need? My mechanic said one of his customers came in with his own Accura booster he bought for $90 to install and an Accura is a more expensive car than a Civic. I went to Majestic and cannot find a booster to save my life, what do they call that thing over there that makes the power brakes work?

I have a '95 Honda Civic EX
2 Door, 4 speed Automatic Transmission
Anybody know where I can get a power brake booster for this car for less than $150? Any good online places? Anyone can figure out how to work Majestic Honda at hondaautomotiveparts.com?
Please help, thanks!

Wow, Majestic Honda is asking for $294.49 for the brake booster after discount. Otherwise it costs $420.70. To verify yourself you can select the following: Civic, 1995, 2DR EX, KA4AT, and then select MASTER POWER. The brake booster is part #5.
You're probably better off buying it elsewhere.

Junkyard, you're probably going to have an easier time finding one from a '94 - '97 Integra with ABS (should be identical to a '92 - '95 Civic EX with ABS coupe/sedan booster)

Its not a good part to get a junkyard, but its also a whole lot cheaper. Honestly I've seen so few of them go bad i'd take a chance on a used one.

Re: '95 Civic EX need booster
Well, we did flush a LOT of fluid though the brake lines to get the black, dirty stuff out and end up with nice, pale yellow DOT 3. Gonna find a booster and will recheck the fluid. ....Rotten bastard!
Funny thing, during all of this work my mechanic say well you wanted a Honda Civic and you are getting one, one piece at a time. LOL!
Thanks for the tip.

Wow, that sounds excellent. You have the car or you just saved the parts? Can you email me at:
theohmster@comcast.net?
I want to check with my mechanic if a used booster is okay, I know so little about cars it is not funny but it sure sounds great.
Thanks!

Re: '95 Civic EX need booster
you can take it to a place that specializes in brakes. the dealership offeres a seal between the booster and the master.
I couldn't find any rebuild kits online, maybe I didnt look hard enough.
hit up the phone book and find some local places that do brakes as there specialty, and ask them there prices.

Re: '95 Civic EX need booster
are you sure? I think I saw somewhere online that boosters can be rebuilt. is this non-servicable one honda specific, or does that go for most any booster?
