Default 95 civic dx ?

ok i dont know if im posting this in the right spot lol i went to start my car and the batery was compleatly draind now the batery only 3 months pld tho but recently like 2 weeks ago i wired up my head unit the 12v wire yellow straight to the batery with a fuse tho and the ignition wire to the factory stereo wire harness 12v wire could this b the cause like it was a slow drain help me please im on a buget and cant aford for it 2 be serious thanks in advance

did you cut the harness off and wire it in or did you get an actual wireing harness from like bestbuy?

You can test whether your improvised wiring job is causing a battery drain by disconnecting the new wiring to see whether the battery will now hold its charge. You might want to charge the battery before doing this test.

it was cut the previous ownes had it broken into and the stero stolen so it was cut

got new batery it was under warinty

go to a junk yard and find a new harness wire in the factory harness go to bestbuy and get a radio harness ... do things the right way and you wont have problems

ok earlyer today my car would not start the batery was compleatly draind the headlights wouldnt even turn on. i was wandering if it was posibly a slow drai due to the way i wired my headunit i wired the ignition wire to the 12v content wire and the 12v wire on a new wire directly to the batery itself so it has power 24/7 withiut turnig the key hope this is beter

i dont know how to install that do you think it will work betrer and not drain if i wire it back the rite way

thanks that helps some. you probably do have a draw coming off the head unit which would drain the battery. do you have the option of turning off the head unit or removing the face plate?

yea i do i turn it off and remove the face plate all the time or ill leave it in but off is it posible to still have a draw since i got 2 wires on contant 12v cause i know you need just 1 to keep your setings but i did 2 lol stupid i know

two wires probably complete a loop which will create that draw. you should only need 1 wire for power.
