Default 94 EH2 CX (Canada) D-series mystery question - Was the D15B7 an option?

I just purchased an original 1994 EH2 CX (Canadian model) off an elderly lady. It is all orignal, paint is not to bad. It's a 4 speed auto with 185 000 km/s. I'm not new to Honda's so bare with me please. I know the CX model's came with a SOHC 8v D15B8. The car i just purchased has a SOHC 16v D15B7 which is found in the DX/LX models.

Was this an option? Do you think the motor has been replaced? I'm really confused and I highly doubt this car has had an engine transpant. Everything is original on it.

Thanks.

"CX models in Canada came with the 16-valve 102 hp 1.5L D15B7 engine as in the DX model, but could also be ordered with automatic transmission which also came with power steering. Some later CDM CX models "

The D15B8, 8 valve boat anchor was not available in Canada at all.

The automatic transmission is also a Canadian only option in a CX, sometimes you'll find one with a rear wiper as well.

Rear wiper is CDM 1995 CX only. Incidentally, there was no other trim of CDM hatch in this model year.

OP, I owned a 94 CX also and was confused why it had a D15B7 ... til I figured out all the differences in CDM and USDM trims and engines.

Pretty sure I wrote the quoted portion of the wikipedia entry, btw.

Yes I did google it, but I wanted true answers from a reliable source.

My CX does not have a rear wiper. It does have power steering but that's pretty much it. I miss my 93 EH3. It was full load with a B18C1 swap. But this CX does get great gas mileage!

Thanks for the clarification guys.
