Icon3 94 del sol si - sticky/notchy throttle and auto trans shifting issues

hi, im new to the site, i joined because im having some trouble out of my car and no one can help me! its fine idling but when i start driving it is when the problems start, its an automatic and its got 232,000 mi but its always ran strong until i put new tires on it drove it home and parked it overnight, next day when i get into the car im driving down the road and the cars throttle gets practically impossible to push down when its half way down but when i smash it to the floor and its in 4 it will shift down.....but into 2! and it even does it when i drive it like a standard when it shifts it makes this loud squeak like a tire is rubbing or a belt is squeaking then it kicks hard into gear, and going up hills u can forget about it, it wouldnt be that bad if i didnt have to go to West Virginia on a daily basis, its ALL hills -_- someone please help i love my lil del sol but feel like kicking it off a cliff.

The gas pedal is physically hard to push down, or the car just isn't reacting to it?

Did you check the throttle cable?

Go to the Honda dealer and buy 3 quarts of ATF @ $9.
Do a drain and fill with the transmission.

Then buy a can of PB Blaster at Walmart or auto store.
Disconnect the MAP sensor electrical connector and soak both sides of the connector. Gets rid of corrosion. This connector works with the ECU and controls fuel and timing during acceleration. Also check or just replace the vacuum line from this sensor to the vacuum canister. It's about a foot long 1/4 inch tubing you can get at Ace Hardware.

You can also use the PB Blaster on the coolant temp sensor electrical sensor.

These connectors are old so reconnect them with some force to make sure they are tight. They make small voltage readings and they need good contact to work right with the ECU.

Then let us know if it runs any better.

Also spray that throttle cable with PB Blaster.
