94 del slo build...
I received this car plus $2k for my 05 gixxer, had gsr swap with spun bearing so I've decided to go all out on it. Take note that this is my first time to do any sort of body work, painting, tucking, or shaving, done a few motor builds and swaps but never been this deep into a honda. Any helpful advice Is appreciated. And sorry bout the few pics I have up to this point, just decided to make a build thread so I will keep it updated. Enjoys...
The sol...
About 2 weeks down the road, sorry, no pics in between, was gonna rattle can it but decided to say Fu€k it, buy a gun and learn to paint. So went ahead n stripped it all,(had been rattle can primered) now back to square 1.
Have already shaved fire wall, now time to experiment with bondo. Lol
With that done and the red primer that the douche at sherwinn Williams recommended that turned my red paint orangish, time to paint. Wanted it to b bright red, but screw it.
Time to let paint cure, I'll post more pics when progress is being made...
Took a few more pics when i got home of partial wire tuck and the disaster inside...
Got some time away from work n got jus about the entire car ready to spray...wouldnt of been possible without J-Rodney,the Labrenz's, and about 5 packs of sandpaper... sorry that the pics r a little blurry, they from my iphone

You should really stay as far away from bondo as you can. You should invest in a decent welder if you don't already have one. it will look so much nicer when its all said and done. lookin good so far though.

I agree. Welder is doing a couple of cosmetics on the outside. As far as engine bay, didn't have access. But thanks

How well does it hold up if you do welds on the seams...with fiberglass/glazing compound whatever over the top?

Crafty with the paper man...I've never painted anything without a roof. You did it up right though man...it's all in the prep...alot of people skip out cheap it up and regret it later. I'm about to pull mine down to almost bare metal and etch it up and respray when tax season comes.
What kind of paint did you use?

bc runs aren't bad...you can sand them out...just make sure youre last coat is good and decently "wet"
cc runs aren't hideous either...they can be color sanded out or if theyre REALLY bad...you can put tape on both sides and VERY carefully cut them off with a razor...then color sanded and polished to correct. The only thing that sucks though is if you get runs in the clear and you absolutely can't live with them...and you color sand them out...you pretty much have to do a complete cut and buff otherwise you'll have a super glossy round spot where you used polishing compound and some semi orange peeled clear. Be careful not to burn through the clear if you do wetsand runs out though...be very liberal.
Best of luck.
