94 civic will start but not drive or enagage gears
I have a new stage 2 clutch and aluminum flywheel, my clutch feels strong as it was the day I had the clutch in. My transmission has never grinded or shown any symptoms of going bad. Last year I had both cv axels and joints replaced and a some bent linkage straightened out when something similar happened.
Last night I was reversing out of a parking spot and my car kicked me out of reverse and made a loud thumping noise and jolted backwards, almost as if I dropped the clutch without enough gas, and the car would have died if I hadnt got right on my clutch. I noticed my shifter felt different, it was stiff and hard to push it from side to side when shifting(IE: from second to third and from fourth to fifth, any sideways motion), and on occasion when I was on a highway for a long time my car would kick me out of fifth gear and into neutral but go right back into fifth with no problems.
About an hour later I was driving down a side street in fourth gear, when my car made the same loud thumping noise, turned off, and kicked me into neutral. I turned my car back on and put it into gear but it wouldnt drive(the same way it wouldnt drive when my cv axels both snapped simutaneously last winter, except when that happened I wasnt kicked out of gear, nor did the vehicle turn off).
Now, with the car on, without pushing down my clutch I can move my shifter through my gears, but the gears will not engage and the car will not drive. My clutch doesn't feel any different.
Could this be my linkage breaking or what? If anyone has any idea what this could be or has had something similar happen to them, I would really appreciate some input/advice.
-Thanks
