'94 civic ex needs a muffler
...but I'm a complete novice when it comes to cars. I'm just looking for a bolt-on replacement, but I've no idea where to begin. The last owner cut it off a little before the muffler begins... I took pictures.
I'd like to know how difficult it'll be to find a replacement muffler/pipe and install it (bolt-on or welding?).
So what am I looking at here?

welding if he cut it off or find a new axel-back portion that will bolt up. mufflers can be had for as little as 40$ or just look around on local ads.

OEM axles back is about $150 from honda, you can get a walker OEM replacement for a little less, both will bolt up no welding required if you have the stock mid pipe

you're better off getting an entire system from the flex pipe back, you won't be able to weld that. and clamping wouldn't be effective. Cant use hinge repair kit eaither.

^You've never welded before then.... we had ppl who hacked off their stock muffler and wanted those stupid ricer cans put on all the time and it looked just like OP's pic. Was easy to do and if need be we used an adapter to cover to size diff.

What you want are "direct fit" components when you order aftermarket parts. You want the intermediate/B pipe (these are actually not that much money for that car, they're about $80 for a Walker aftermarket here in Canada, they should be cheaper in the US) and the muffler. If you can afford it the OEM Honda muffler is much nicer, sounds better and lasts longer.

dude you won't be able to effectively mount a muffler anyway, get a whole test pipe back from nearly any auto parts stores, honda exhaust rot out soooo often most stores have the whole flex back one or 2 in stock. don't cost much eaither. Might want to consider replacing the rubber hangers while your at it if you need them
