Whats up guys, i have a 94 civic coupe ex with the d16z6 5 speed. The problem is she'll have power before 4k rpm once she hits 4k rpm she'll hesistate and wont go any faster like she wont pass 4k rpm in gear. It could be a vacuum leak right? i hear like a small a vacuum leak near the intake manifold on the drivers side but i checked all the lines and their all pretty good. Am i missing anything else that i should check?

Any CEL? Im not sure if a vaccum leak would do that. But spray some carb cleaner at the vaccum hoses w car running. You'll know if there's a leak or not.

When was last tune up? ie plugs, cap n rotor, wires?

ill try and replace the spark plugs soon, hasn't been used in a while from PO. But ill check everything out tommorow. tahnks

Yeah she has no CEL at all, motor sounds good and everything.

your ecu may be in limp mode, it won't let you rev past 3500-4500(it varies between motors) to protect the internals of the engine. no CEL at all doesn't seem good, is your CEL light burnt out?

the light isn't burnt out at all, it still works. how can i fix the limp mode?

Did you do a tune up - plugs, wires, cap, and rotor?

Have you checked the mechanical timing?

When the key is turned to ON(II), does the CEL turn on and then off after 2 seconds?

Yeah when the key is turned on the CEL comes on and then goes away, i havent done a tune up yet. I plan on doing the plugs,wires, and the cap and rotor. But i got a extra TPS to replace my old one just in case the one i have on their is not working.

Also check for a clogged cat.

thats what i was guessing also the cat could be clogged.
