Default 94 civic with b18 swap - axle issue

I recently went to replace my axles and noticed they are not aligned with the wheel hub. There is a slight offset of the position of the axles; looks as if the engine can be re-positioned to sit closer to the firewall.

Is there a technical term for this, and what would be the first steps to getting this resolved?

I don't see it as an issue. The axles have cv joints at both ends for a reason. Unless they're binding on you I would leave it alone.
